The Biblical Prophecy Of The Bride Of Christ

Hello friends! So if you've been keeping up with my posts lately, you'll know that I've been studying the bible to figure out who the Bride of Christ is. If you haven't read my last two posts, here's what I've come up with so far: The body of Christ (or the church as a whole) is NOT the Bride of Christ. The Bride of Christ is ONE PERSON. And the Bride of Christ is not anyone who claims that they are the Bride online or in person. (If you want more details on that, you can read my last two posts on the blog) So now that we have the recap out of the way, let's get into the biblical prophecy surrounding the Bride.

Trying to solve this mystery was a bit difficult, but I managed to find references to the Bride in : Song of Songs, Psalm 45, Revelation, Proverbs 8 and 31, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Galatians, Jeremiah, Job, and 1 Corinthians. And if you want to know how all of these verses connect to the Bride of Christ, I'll paint the picture for you starting in Revelation.

Revelation

  • Revelation directly mentions the bride and helps to connect all of the other passages together.

  • Calls the bride "New Jerusalem"

  • Mentions the Wedding Feast

  • The Bride says "Come"

Isaiah/Ezekiel/Hosea/Jeremiah

  • Mentions Jerusalem/Zion/Israel

  • Mentions God as a husband/bridegroom

  • Alludes to wedding/marriage

Song of Songs

  • A book about a romance between a King and his bride

Psalm 45

  • A wedding song

  • Also about a King and his bride

Proverbs 8/ Job/ 1 Corinthians/ (Anytime Wisdom is brought up)

  • Wisdom is personified as a woman (and we all know women are RARELY seen as positive things in the bible)

  • Wisdom calls out and says "Come"

  • Wisdom is preparing a feast that she is inviting people to

Proverbs 31

  • These verses talk about being a capable wife

  • The bride is called Jesus's wife

Galatians

  • Mentions a heavenly Jerusalem

  • The bride steps out of heaven in Revelation

Alrighty so now that we know why I am using the scriptures that I use, let's discuss who the bride is (in terms of character, and position in the kingdom), learn a little bit about her story, and discover the promise that God gave her. So let's start off with obvious things that many people could conclude easily, and then we can dive deeper into who she is as a person.

All About The Bride

♡A Queen

As one could probably guess, marrying a King makes you a Queen lol. But here are some verses if you doubt that she'll be a Queen.

Shake yourself free, Jerusalem! Rise from the dust and sit on your throne! Undo the chains that bind you, captive people of Zion!

Isaiah 52:2 GNTD

You had ornaments of gold and silver, and you always wore clothes of embroidered linen and silk. You ate bread made from the best flour, and had honey and olive oil to eat. Your beauty was dazzling, and you became a queen.

Ezekiel 16:13 GNTD

♡Her Duties As A Queen

Some of her duties as a Queen will include making plans, writing laws, and helping to govern the Kingdom of God.

I make plans and carry them out. I have understanding, and I am strong. I help kings to govern and rulers to make good laws. Every ruler on earth governs with my help, officials and nobles alike.

Proverbs 8:14‭-‬16 GNTD

♡A Mother

The Queen will also become a Mom to billions, because again, marrying a Father, turns you into a Mother.

“My holy city is like a woman who suddenly gives birth to a child without ever going into labor.

Isaiah 66:7 GNTD

But the heavenly Jerusalem is free, and she is our mother.

Galatians 4:26 GNTD

♡She Gives The Lord Joy

The Queen makes her husband happy and they enjoy being together.

Be glad and rejoice forever in what I create. The new Jerusalem I make will be full of joy, and her people will be happy. I myself will be filled with joy because of Jerusalem and her people. There will be no weeping there, no calling for help.

Isaiah 65:18‭-‬19 GNTD

Her husband puts his confidence in her, and he will never be poor. As long as she lives, she does him good and never harm. Her children show their appreciation, and her husband praises her. He says, “Many women are good wives, but you are the best of them all.”

Proverbs 31:11‭-‬12‭, ‬28‭-‬29 GNTD

I was beside him like an architect, I was his daily source of joy, always happy in his presence—

Proverbs 8:30 GNTD

♡She's a Human Being

I've seen some people say that she's the Holy Spirit or the actual spirit of Wisdom, but she's just a person. A regular person like you and me! This verse in Revelation mentions the Spirit and the Bride as two separate entities, so the bride is a human being.

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!” Everyone who hears this must also say, “Come!” Come, whoever is thirsty; accept the water of life as a gift, whoever wants it.

Revelation 22:17 GNTD

♡Hidden by God

The Bride is on this earth, but she's being hidden by God. So she's not easily accessible or easily found.

My sweetheart, my bride, is a secret garden, a walled garden, a private spring;

Song of Songs 4:12 GNTD

But where can wisdom be found? Where can we learn to understand? God alone knows the way, Knows the place where wisdom is found,

Job 28:12‭, ‬23 GNTD

The wisdom I proclaim is God's secret wisdom, which is hidden from human beings, but which he had already chosen for our glory even before the world was made.

1 Corinthians 2:7 GNTD

♡Isolated/Loner

The Bride is being hidden by God; and so because of that, she doesn't have many people around her that understand her. This can be seen through how she has to prepare herself. No one is there to help her.

I will make you well again; I will heal your wounds, though your enemies say, ‘Zion is an outcast; no one cares about her.’ I, the Lord, have spoken.”

Jeremiah 30:17 GNTD

The Lord says, “O Jerusalem, you suffering, helpless city, with no one to comfort you, I will rebuild your foundations with precious stones.

Isaiah 54:11 GNTD

Shake yourself free, Jerusalem! Rise from the dust and sit on your throne! Undo the chains that bind you, captive people of Zion!

Isaiah 52:2 GNTD

Let us rejoice and be glad; let us praise his greatness! For the time has come for the wedding of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself for it.

Revelation 19:7 GNTD

♡Has Done MANY Good Deeds

Revelation describes linen as being the good deeds of the saints, and in Proverbs 31 the Bride is described as having more than enough fabric to provide for her family to use AND sell to merchants! She even made enough money to buy a vineyard off of it! So this Queen is a remarkable person!

Let us rejoice and be glad; let us praise his greatness! For the time has come for the wedding of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself for it. She has been given clean shining linen to wear.” (The linen is the good deeds of God's people.)

Revelation 19:7‭-‬8 GNTD

She keeps herself busy making wool and linen cloth. She looks at land and buys it, and with money she has earned she plants a vineyard. She spins her own thread and weaves her own cloth. She is generous to the poor and needy. She doesn't worry when it snows, because her family has warm clothing. She makes bedspreads and wears clothes of fine purple linen. She makes clothes and belts, and sells them to merchants.

Proverbs 31:13‭, ‬16‭, ‬19‭-‬22‭, ‬24 GNTD

♡A Prophet

The Queen is a prophet of God who is trying to win souls for the Kingdom.

Listen! Wisdom is calling out. Reason is making herself heard. On the hilltops near the road and at the crossroads she stands. At the entrance to the city, beside the gates, she calls: “I appeal to all of you; I call to everyone on earth.

Proverbs 8:1‭-‬4 GNTD

Wisdom has built her house and made seven columns for it. She has had an animal killed for a feast, mixed spices in the wine, and set the table. She has sent her servant women to call out from the highest place in town: “Come in, ignorant people!” And to the foolish she says, “Come, eat my food and drink the wine that I have mixed. Leave the company of ignorant people, and live. Follow the way of knowledge.”

Proverbs 9:1‭-‬6 GNTD

♡A Reflection of the Glory of God

She's not only a prophet, but a powerful prophet at that. She reflects God's glory in her words AND in her life! She walks it how she talks it.

The Spirit took control of me, and the angel carried me to the top of a very high mountain. He showed me Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming down out of heaven from God and shining with the glory of God. The city shone like a precious stone, like a jasper, clear as crystal.

Revelation 21:10‭-‬11 GNTD

Arise, Jerusalem, and shine like the sun; The glory of the Lord is shining on you! Other nations will be covered by darkness, But on you the light of the Lord will shine; The brightness of his presence will be with you. Nations will be drawn to your light, And kings to the dawning of your new day. “No longer will the sun be your light by day Or the moon be your light by night; I, the Lord, will be your eternal light; The light of my glory will shine on you.

Isaiah 60:1‭-‬3‭, ‬19 GNTD

♡Comes From An Abusive Family

Unfortunately, the Queen has suffered under the hand of abuse in her life. Her family has treated her terribly and has abused and neglected her.

Don't look down on me because of my color, because the sun has tanned me. My brothers were angry with me and made me work in the vineyard. I had no time to care for myself.

Song of Songs 1:6 GNTD

Bride of the king, listen to what I say— forget your people and your relatives.

Psalm 45:10 GNTD

Listen to what the Lord says, you that fear him and obey him: “Because you are faithful to me, some of your own people hate you and will have nothing to do with you. They mock you and say, ‘Let the Lord show his greatness and save you, so that we may see you rejoice.’ But they themselves will be disgraced!

Isaiah 66:5 GNTD

When you were born, no one cut your umbilical cord or washed you or rubbed you with salt or wrapped you in cloths. No one took enough pity on you to do any of these things for you. When you were born, no one loved you. You were thrown out in an open field.

Ezekiel 16:4‭-‬5 GNTD

The Lord says, “O Jerusalem, you suffering, helpless city, with no one to comfort you, I will rebuild your foundations with precious stones.

Isaiah 54:11 GNTD

The Lord has made a solemn promise, And by his power he will carry it out: “Your grain will no longer be food for your enemies, And foreigners will no longer drink your wine. But you that planted and harvested the grain Will eat the bread and praise the Lord. You that tended and gathered the grapes Will drink the wine in the courts of my Temple.”

Isaiah 62:8‭-‬9 GNTD

♡The Abuse Brought Her And Jesus Closer Together

The abuse hurt her, but it also caused her to cling to the Lord for support and love.

So I am going to take her into the desert again; there I will win her back with words of love. I will give back to her the vineyards she had and make Trouble Valley a door of hope. She will respond to me there as she did when she was young, when she came from Egypt. Then once again she will call me her husband—she will no longer call me her Baal.

Hosea 2:14‭-‬16 GNTD

“Then I passed by and saw you squirming in your own blood. You were covered with blood, but I wouldn't let you die. I made you grow like a healthy plant. You grew strong and tall and became a young woman. Your breasts were well-formed, and your hair had grown, but you were naked. “As I passed by again, I saw that the time had come for you to fall in love. I covered your naked body with my coat and promised to love you. Yes, I made a marriage covenant with you, and you became mine.” This is what the Sovereign Lord says. “Then I took water and washed the blood off you. I rubbed olive oil on your skin. I dressed you in embroidered gowns and gave you shoes of the best leather, a linen headband, and a silk cloak.

Ezekiel 16:6‭-‬10 GNTD

♡Abuse Caused Problems In Their Relationship

Because her family was abusive, they mocked her and doubted that God would do anything in her life. God may have even held back from moving in her life in the midst of this, and this may have caused her to feel even more alone.

Israel, you are like a young wife, deserted by her husband and deeply distressed. But the Lord calls you back to him and says: “For one brief moment I left you; with deep love I will take you back.

Isaiah 54:6‭-‬7 GNTD

No longer will you be called “Forsaken,” Or your land be called “The Deserted Wife.” Your new name will be “God Is Pleased with Her.” Your land will be called “Happily Married,” Because the Lord is pleased with you And will be like a husband to your land.

Isaiah 62:4 GNTD

♡Faithful

All of this tragedy occurred in her life, but she remained faithful to the Lord, and what He was doing in her life.

to proclaim this message to everyone in Jerusalem. “I remember how faithful you were when you were young, how you loved me when we were first married; you followed me through the desert, through a land that had not been planted.

Jeremiah 2:2 GNTD

Listen to what the Lord says, you that fear him and obey him: “Because you are faithful to me, some of your own people hate you and will have nothing to do with you. They mock you and say, ‘Let the Lord show his greatness and save you, so that we may see you rejoice.’ But they themselves will be disgraced!

Isaiah 66:5 GNTD

♡The Bride's Promise

The Lord promises to save her from abuse, and that He'll protect her, and she'll never have to endure that kind of pain again. He'll restore her and exalt her to her rightful place on the throne. He'll also punish everyone that was against her and made fun of her.

Israel, I will make you my wife; I will be true and faithful; I will show you constant love and mercy and make you mine forever. I will keep my promise and make you mine, and you will acknowledge me as Lord.

Hosea 2:19‭-‬20 GNTD

The Lord says, “I will bring you lasting prosperity; the wealth of the nations will flow to you like a river that never goes dry. You will be like a child that is nursed by its mother, carried in her arms, and treated with love. I will comfort you in Jerusalem, as a mother comforts her child. When you see this happen, you will be glad; it will make you strong and healthy. Then you will know that I, the Lord, help those who obey me, and I show my anger against my enemies.”

Isaiah 66:12‭-‬14 GNTD

“The wood of the pine, the juniper, and the cypress, The finest wood from the forests of Lebanon, Will be brought to rebuild you, Jerusalem, To make my Temple beautiful, To make my city glorious. The descendants of those who oppressed you will come And bow low to show their respect. All who once despised you will worship at your feet. They will call you ‘The City of the Lord,’ ‘Zion, the City of Israel's Holy God.’ “You will no longer be forsaken and hated, A city deserted and desolate. I will make you great and beautiful, A place of joy forever and ever. Nations and kings will care for you As a mother nurses her child. You will know that I, the Lord, have saved you, That the mighty God of Israel sets you free. “I will bring you gold instead of bronze, Silver and bronze instead of iron and wood, And iron instead of stone. Your rulers will no longer oppress you; I will make them rule with justice and peace. The sounds of violence will be heard no more; Destruction will not shatter your country again. I will protect and defend you like a wall; You will praise me because I have saved you. “No longer will the sun be your light by day Or the moon be your light by night; I, the Lord, will be your eternal light; The light of my glory will shine on you. Your days of grief will come to an end. I, the Lord, will be your eternal light, More lasting than the sun and moon. Your people will all do what is right, And will possess the land forever. I planted them, I made them, To reveal my greatness to all. Even your smallest and humblest family Will become as great as a powerful nation. When the right time comes, I will make this happen quickly. I am the Lord!”

Isaiah 60:13‭-‬22 GNTD

Jerusalem rejoices because of what the Lord has done. She is like a bride dressed for her wedding. God has clothed her with salvation and victory. As surely as seeds sprout and grow, The Sovereign Lord will save his people, And all the nations will praise him.

Isaiah 61:10‭-‬11 GNTD

I will speak out to encourage Jerusalem; I will not be silent until she is saved, And her victory shines like a torch in the night. Jerusalem, the nations will see you victorious! All their kings will see your glory. You will be called by a new name, A name given by the Lord himself. You will be like a beautiful crown for the Lord. No longer will you be called “Forsaken,” Or your land be called “The Deserted Wife.” Your new name will be “God Is Pleased with Her.” Your land will be called “Happily Married,” Because the Lord is pleased with you And will be like a husband to your land. Like a young man taking a virgin as his bride, He who formed you will marry you. As a groom is delighted with his bride, So your God will delight in you. On your walls, Jerusalem, I have placed sentries; They must never be silent day or night. They must remind the Lord of his promises And never let him forget them. They must give him no rest until he restores Jerusalem And makes it a city the whole world praises. The Lord has made a solemn promise, And by his power he will carry it out: “Your grain will no longer be food for your enemies, And foreigners will no longer drink your wine. But you that planted and harvested the grain Will eat the bread and praise the Lord. You that tended and gathered the grapes Will drink the wine in the courts of my Temple.” People of Jerusalem, go out of the city And build a road for your returning people! Prepare a highway; clear it of stones! Put up a signal so that the nations can know That the Lord is announcing to all the earth: “Tell the people of Jerusalem That the Lord is coming to save you, Bringing with him the people he has rescued.” You will be called “God's Holy People,” “The People the Lord Has Saved.” Jerusalem will be called “The City That God Loves,” “The City That God Did Not Forsake.”

Isaiah 62:1‭-‬12 GNTD

♡She's Beautiful

She's a beautiful person inside and out, but these verses focus more on her beautiful outer exterior.

How beautiful you are, my love; how your eyes shine with love!

Song of Songs 1:15 GNTD

How beautiful you are, my love! How your eyes shine with love behind your veil. Your hair dances like a flock of goats bounding down the hills of Gilead. How beautiful you are, my love; how perfect you are!

Song of Songs 4:1‭, ‬7 GNTD

For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your Lord.

Psalms 45:11 NLT

The princess is in the palace—how beautiful she is! Her gown is made of gold thread.

Psalm 45:13 GNTD

You had ornaments of gold and silver, and you always wore clothes of embroidered linen and silk. You ate bread made from the best flour, and had honey and olive oil to eat. Your beauty was dazzling, and you became a queen. You became famous in every nation for your perfect beauty, because I was the one who made you so lovely.” This is what the Sovereign Lord says.

Ezekiel 16:13‭-‬14 GNTD

♡She's THAT Gorl

This is just a list of great traits and qualities that she's described as having.

Listen to my excellent words; all I tell you is right. What I say is the truth; lies are hateful to me. Everything I say is true; nothing is false or misleading. To those with insight, it is all clear; to the well-informed, it is all plain. Choose my instruction instead of silver; choose knowledge rather than the finest gold. “I am Wisdom, I am better than jewels; nothing you want can compare with me. I am Wisdom, and I have insight; I have knowledge and sound judgment. I make plans and carry them out. I have understanding, and I am strong. What you get from me is better than the finest gold, better than the purest silver. I walk the way of righteousness; I follow the paths of justice,

Proverbs 8:6‭-‬12‭, ‬14‭, ‬19‭-‬20 GNTD

How hard it is to find a capable wife! She is worth far more than jewels! She is a hard worker, strong and industrious. She knows the value of everything she makes, and works late into the night. She is generous to the poor and needy. She is strong and respected and not afraid of the future. She speaks with a gentle wisdom. She is always busy and looks after her family's needs. Charm is deceptive and beauty disappears, but a woman who honors the Lord should be praised.

Proverbs 31:10‭, ‬17‭-‬18‭, ‬20‭, ‬25‭-‬27‭, ‬30 GNTD

♡Put Some Respect On Her Name!

These are the verses that just emphasize that she's that gorl lol.

Like a lily among thorns is my darling among women.

Song of Songs 2:2 GNTD

He says, “Many women are good wives, but you are the best of them all.” Charm is deceptive and beauty disappears, but a woman who honors the Lord should be praised. Give her credit for all she does. She deserves the respect of everyone.

Proverbs 31:29‭-‬31 GNTD

♡First Creation Ever Made

Now this one I'm a little iffy on so you guys tell me what you think about this. But in my research, I think she might be the first creation ever made and the Queen and Jesus were married before the Queen came to earth. And I know that sounds a little weird but the scriptures kinda give that off to me. But read them for yourself and let me know what you think!

“The Lord created me first of all, the first of his works, long ago. I was made in the very beginning, at the first, before the world began. I was born before the oceans, when there were no springs of water. I was born before the mountains, before the hills were set in place, before God made the earth and its fields or even the first handful of soil. I was there when he set the sky in place, when he stretched the horizon across the ocean, when he placed the clouds in the sky, when he opened the springs of the ocean and ordered the waters of the sea to rise no further than he said. I was there when he laid the earth's foundations. I was beside him like an architect, I was his daily source of joy, always happy in his presence— happy with the world and pleased with the human race.

Proverbs 8:22‭-‬31 GNTD

Then God said, “And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small.”

Genesis 1:26 GNTD

The Lord told me to proclaim this message to everyone in Jerusalem. “I remember how faithful you were when you were young, how you loved me when we were first married; you followed me through the desert, through a land that had not been planted. Israel, you belonged to me alone; you were my sacred possession. I sent suffering and disaster on everyone who hurt you. I, the Lord, have spoken.”

Jeremiah 2:1‭-‬3 GNTD

So I am going to take her into the desert again; there I will win her back with words of love. I will give back to her the vineyards she had and make Trouble Valley a door of hope. She will respond to me there as she did when she was young, when she came from Egypt. Then once again she will call me her husband—she will no longer call me her Baal.

Hosea 2:14‭-‬16 GNTD

Okay, so that's everything I found out about the Bride of Christ prophecy through the scriptures. I been putting in WORK with this prophecy lol. Clearly, the obsession continues lol. But anyways thanks for reading and I'll see yall in the next post!
