[Part 2] Your Salvation Is Secured!

Updated: Sep 12, 2021

Over the course of the week in writing my previous post; I saw some things online in Christian spaces that I wanted to clear up, because it seems that many Christians have questions about this specific topic. So while I was scrolling through Facebook one day this week, I saw someone ask the question: "If you are still committing sin by the time when you pass, do you still get to go to heaven?". This question gets asked a lot in Christian spaces so it seems to be a common concern amongst Christians. And I have good news for all who are questioning about this topic; because yes as the title implies, your salvation is secured! I'd first like to say that I know this is true because quite literally everyone, saved or unsaved is still committing sins (whether they are conscious of them or not). NONE of us are perfect, and many of us are not constantly repenting to God every second of every day. So if this were true then nobody would be able to get into heaven if the basis of entry was on doing good works (or not sinning). The bible says that the gift of God is based on GRACE not on works so NO MAN can boast. So the ONLY requirement is to believe in Jesus and give your life to Him. God is not a man that He should lie, and if He said that's all you need to get in, then that's it! But if you need more biblical evidence to prove this fact true, I found this scripture that I believe best helps to show this concept.

10Using the gift that God gave me, I did the work of an expert builder and laid the foundation, and someone else is building on it. But each of you must be careful how you build. 11For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation, and no other foundation can be laid. 12Some will use gold or silver or precious stones in building on the foundation; others will use wood or grass or straw. 13And the quality of each person's work will be seen when the Day of Christ exposes it. For on that Day fire will reveal everyone's work; the fire will test it and show its real quality. 14If what was built on the foundation survives the fire, the builder will receive a reward. 15But if your work is burnt up, then you will lose it; but you yourself will be saved, as if you had escaped through the fire.

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 GNTD

So basically, what this verse is saying is that if you believe in Jesus then you WILL make it in heaven REGARDLESS of your sins. However, you would receive a reward in heaven if you did more work for the Lord. So you do get rewarded if you did more for the Lord than others, however, you will not be penalized if you didn't do as much work for the Lord. ALL who call on the name of the Lord for help will be saved. And when He said that He MEANT THAT! So rest easy and trust that the Lord will save you when your time comes. God is a promise keeper! He does what He says!
