The Humanity of Jesus

Hello friends! Something that I tend to see a lot in Christian spaces (and sometimes even in Christian leadership) is many people sort of negating the humanity of Jesus. And I don't mean that people deny that Christ came down as a human, but they deny His range of emotions and His capabilities to be a friend to people. Jesus is fully God *and* fully man; and He had friends and felt things very deeply for others. He has cried, got upset, been empathetic, and been happy all during His time on earth; to show us that He still has the capacity to be like this now! Jesus is not just a Lord, or a Teacher, but He's also a friend! And He wants to be a friend to us! Jesus is not a cold or distant person. He's a real human being with thoughts and emotions, and He will accept us as friends if you open your heart to Him!

I do not call you servants any longer, because servants do not know what their master is doing. Instead, I call you friends, because I have told you everything I heard from my Father.

John 11:33 GNTD

Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Mark 10:21 NLT

When the Lord saw her, his heart was filled with pity for her, and he said to her, “Don't cry.”

Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 GNTD
